Initial Ideas:


  • Circles, community unite.
  • CMYK Circles, breaking up the colours when printing (halftone effect)
  • Circles also concentrate on the mesh of a screen, creating a close up view.
  • Create circles using different traditional media; screenprint, monoprint, lino, collage.
  • Map of Leeds; place screen prints where the events were held.
  • Identity is placed onto screen prints and placed around the area; paint texture from pulling a screen.
  • Hanging the screen prints by string in the venue.
  • Using animated videos and motion videos for social media.
  • Leeds Library - The screen prints act as a library into the history of Leeds, an insight.
  • Using the shape of the college logo and repeating it, similar to the circles using different traditional print methods.  
  • Create a stamp, which can be printed onto all applications. Placed on people, when they enter the exhibition, and stamp could act as an invitation.

Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate



CHOSEN EXHIBITION NAME: SUBSTRATE - unique and intriguing name linking the to process of tradition print.
