For this workshop we had to create an outcome which answers to a random selection of words given to us by Tom.
The three words we were given were:
UNITED LOGISTIC CRISIS
For the final outcome of this workshop, my group created a very dark and twisted approach to the brief. We created a delivery company that deals with human trafficking of refugees. This played with the words given to us, thinking about existing crisis's happening in the nation that involved the movement of an object.person one place to another. The deliverables for this project involved a contract and returning label, which represent the term and conditions of purchasing a human being. The normality of the contract was to act as a way to playfully work with phrasing a normal terms and conditions to apply to that of a human. Objectifying them in a dark manner - linking to this dystopian future. The idea was very rough, but well thought through personally.
The Logo of the 'company' was a playful representation of ownership, subtly showing that you aren't as the buyer helping the refugee's - add's this villainous feel to the company, which is what we intended.
Maybe if I were to approach this project again, I would look at ways in which we can further add to the deliverables in a more interesting and more visual hands on way. As the outcomes were heavily type based with only just a logo - maybe future development could be more visual, allowing the outcome to be more understandable.
