Design inspiration for this initial idea comes from a uni visit to Berlin, were I got to meet Patrick Thomas a Graphic Artist. What inspired me about Thomas is the way he used cardboard for screen printing onto, the outcome offered a rustic look and supplied texture and more interest to that of an ordinary screen print design onto stock paper. His silk screen printing designs also were detailed portraits. His style itself is very simplistic - and I felt that I could take this idea of using cardboard and further develop it to have a deeper meaning.
London Miles - Box Project

"As the exhibition approaches more and more boxes
are coming in to the gallery. A good handful of
them are not your average painted cardboard box,
some local London based artists have really
taken the project seriously and have created
some truly impressive works of art."
This project looked at creating and designing a narrative of cardboard boxes, the final outcomes show the potential of what creating art on cardboard boxes can create, and the potential mediums that can be used.
> This has helped identify the design approach I want to take for the final outcome.
