Simplistic approach, experimenting with the outline of the typeface. The overall process created a final design which was sleek, sharp and still had the theme of unfamiliarity. The final look is refined, and creates a professional vibe, which ties in well with the concept of the brand and the product for this project.
Bold and easy to read, having the A replaced with a triangle, works simultaneously as a symbol and form of hieroglyphic. The heavy weight of the lettering, adds a somewhat friendly and approachable look and at the same time fierce and striking, and works well to the style of teenage target audience.
Developed this style due to its popularity in my last crit, the concept of lines and two forms of strokes to connote two worlds. Although pleasing to the eye the design doesn't connect well to the actual brand and product itself. In comparison to the other design, this logotype doesn't approach the theme of outer space.
Development from the first design, looking at the circles the A's could be formed into eyes, and add an unusual unique look to the final outcome, at the same time have a link to product (through the eyes). The use of eyes also opens up the possibility of creating a logo design, that being the A.
Throughout the development process, I've been looking at the concept of reality and outer world experiences being brought together through typography, this links to the theme of nature. To further develop my first initial design, I used the golden ratio through the height and width of each letter. Overall the outcome came out rather well, and links well to alienating feel I was hoping for. Playing around the kerning further pushed that theme forward, creating a refined, easy to read logotype.
