Brief 2 - Chosen Word

My chosen word for this brief is Static, not the adjective but the noun. This word relates well to words such as distortion, glitch and broken. I chose this word because of the many experimental ways to which I could approach this brief and wanted to work outside of the box. Rough initial ideas to how this typeface could be used is as design typeface uses in photomontages and magazines. The characteristics will be somewhat aggressive and rebellious, relating to the northern American reference to static being angry/critical talk or behavior. I love to create designs based on my opinions and strong ideologies of the world, and a typeface that doesn’t conform to its mundane typeface would be striking and work well. The three noun definitions (shown above) are rather interesting, especially after finding out that the word static is as form of informal language in Northern America, meaning angry or critical talk or behaviour, this definition could be rather interesting to create a typeface for, as characteristics of the typeface itself is in the definition offering a chance of clear and confident approach to typeface designs.
