Brief 2 - Interim Crit

The Interim was a great exercise where I could gain great insightful feedback on my two rationales, and gain an understanding for other people's mindsets towards theirs, which in addition could give me new ideas. This exercise allowed me to focus on the importance of choice between typefaces, concepts and context for this brief.

In conclusion I was able to confidently choose Berthold as my chosen typeface, as other members of the class agreed with the fact that Clarendon would make any form of experimental typeface rather clustered. Also reinforcing my opinion on how berthold would be more appropriate as "it has more potential of distortion without losing legibility."

Further Design Ideas noted down in the Crit :

-   Look at Old TV misconnections and look at the static effect produced
-   "You could connect the lettering together to form a zig zag representing the static electricity"
-   Look at the theme of starting and stopping (possibly a relation to unfinished lettering?)
-   "Create a flowing script like font and making it static"
-   "Pushing the top half of the letter for forward - making the text feel static"
-   "Look into concrete jungles shapes and shadows (this relates to the adj definition of static not the noun                   definition)
-    "Steer away from the obvious of white noise" - wouldn't this possibly make it harder to identify as       the noun       static?
