After creating the final digital outcome - I thought it would be best to get feedback from peers to see what improvements could be made before the production aspect of the project began, here are the below comments on the final outcome:
- My father stated that he sees the piece based on the form of migration , however the imagery of the man looks slightly racist - as it shows a Sikh man among white women. However this may be seen as a biased opinion due to his culture, this outcome is to educate those who don't know about Bhangra, so they may see this image as the birth of diversity in the British community.
- One member of the class really liked the way to which the migration of the chosen music genre was shown through the delivery box, stating that it is a clever take on the project, and illustrates the meaning of this piece well.
- "Should the box show elements of Britain as well, to make the journeys destination more distinguishable." - This comment was made in relation to the use of the punjabi phonetics. However this is when I realised the box's delivery label wasnt added to the mock up. The label will be placed on the top of the box, and also show the key aspects that will highlight where the delivery came from (punjab) and where it will go (birmingham)
- "The use of the colour is eye catching and complimentary to the box"
- "The outcome is a really cool approach to the project and successfully tells me more about the music genre Bhangra"
> Overall, I am really happy with the feedback, as it indicates that the outcome follows the brief successfully. The comment made about the use of the image of the man among the white women coming across racist was well noted, however I feel it comes from a personal opinion to that of a person who wouldn't know about Bhangra, so I will leave the image as it is; as it personally illustrates the migration of Pubjabi people into the British community.
