Brief 1 - Re-Branding of Milton Keynes Gallery

After being appointed to rebrand the gallery, Sara De Bondt and Radovan Scasascia were able to achieve:

- Changing the name from Milton Keynes Gallery to MK Gallery

- Create the new domain name : mkgallery.org.
- Create a new logo, contraction of the M and the K to form a single Letter
A flexible grid-square template and colour palette
- Use of a six system fonts on both Apple and PC

Overall, the design is refreshing!

The thought process behind the branding showcases the sentimentality through a modern and up to date style.
Having the grid referencing of website reflect the architecture, layout and history of Milton Keynes adds a unique and meaningful touch to the overall look. The website provides a framework which is ever changing in colour, font and layout, which is really effective and stimulating, as you refresh the website page. The simplistic logo layout, reinforces the colour blocks of information and artwork on the page, which is what Bondt wanted as she states that 'the colour should come from the colour of the art' in a talk.

Overall the interactive re-brand is simplistic yet interesting. Instead of old static identity, the rebrand offers a combination of new features offering flexibility of design and visual variety in keeping with the Gallery's diverse programmes.
