Initial rough designs in response to my crit response, taking into account shape and form and weight of strokes to connote fragmentation and distortion. One of the strongest sketch ideas was with the simplistic Berthold font being split in half horizontally, having the lower half nudged to the left. The design is easy to read and shows a clear connotation to static and glitch. This quick exercise of jotting down ideas will allow me to expand my approach toward the development process to find the right typeface for my final outcome, and gain a better understanding for the layout of the Berthold typeface.
