SB1 - Development

TYPE DEVELOPMENT
- following the Neon type tutorial the type was transformed
- good colour tones used
- type becomes illuminated and links to the red neon light well
- having a dark brown/red background forms as feeling of type glowing further
- darker background forms a stronger contrast

CHOSEN PHRASE

- quick easy to read and to the point
- will be the largest part of the poster composition wise
- easy to read
- follows design style
- more specific than 'free food'

TYPE LAYOUT ON SITE

Strongest composition for the site is the smaller design, this would allow the website to be readable on both a desktop and a mobile phone (second to last image layout) .  The logo is place centrally along with the type/phrase to add a more professional and believable look.

POSTER DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Type is placed to cover half of the poster, easy to read and identify as a poster on noticeboard. red on dark brown type forms strong contrast, and visualises the neon light effect very well.
Text is broken down to:

- Date
- The Offer
- How to sign up
- And bring ID on the day (feature to make the poster look more convincing.
- simple vector design was made to detail to the negative space shown.
- image is a clear reference to the free food and drink

QR code experimentation to get more people to sign up from the poster via their phone.
Checked both designs for compatibility to mobile phone scanner
Although second QR design works nicely with the post using the negative dark space to allow the inverted qr to standout its performance to the mobile slacks to that of the first design.

Adding more detail to the poster makes it something that needs to be read more. 'Confirmation email' concept was added to stop anyone going to Belgrave to get the offer.

'Confirmation email will be sent please bring confirmation and student ID'

During the development process I took the lead role of the group, designing the work and still verifying with the response
To try and make sure that students wouldn’t go through with the lie and go to Belgrave, we made sure and stated that in order to get the free food and drink you needed to receive a confirmation email - which they would never get. They would receive an email straight away after signing up to state that the whole concept was a lie for this project - this would prevent any conflict with the Belgrave Venue.
