SB7 - Initial Ideas

1) Bleeding Heart - both the death of Franz and death of romance from 2 interpretations

2) Bullet in a shot glass - "I'm just a shot away from you" play on words

3) Shot in resin heart - idea of fragility and the death of Sophie (Franz wife)

4) Dada inspired design - heavily inspired by the part in the music vide

5) Shot of Blood spilled - play on "I'm just a shot, and then we can die"

6) Gun shooting a heart - play on both themes death of love (Franz and wifes love a-swell)

7) Franz inspired design - to close to linking to design and name of band

8) Faces of the band - dada inspired design of collaged bands faces to create other person

9) Modern Love - IDK playing on the repetitive use of the phrase in song but modern version

10) Hands reaching but never meeting - the loss of love both scenarios close but too far.

11) You in gun point range - interactive to the viewer and play on the song

12) In the bar - a clear visual representation of the scenario of the song in the modern interpretation 

13) Dada inspired design - theme of death 

14) Type based design - highlighting unique lyrics of song 

15) A letter in the date form of the date of the assassination having context to the song in clever way.

16) Dada inspired design - Love themed.

Initial ideas heavily informed by research - refer to the two key themes of love and loss, looking at ways of combining both those interpretations of the song together. Exploration of the dada style was made to link back to the iconic visual aesthetic of the music video. Dadaism was heavily explored and experimented with to link back to research and respond to Odell’s work in the music video. This would be a form of celebrating the song in a more updated, modernised form.

Digital design inspiration and experimentation for the logo a modern updated look and feel when created digitally - but lacks any hidden context or meaning.

This design is a combination of initial idea 15 and 16 (refer to list) playing this the theme of love and adding contextual reference to the assassination of Franz in a unique way. Layers include a newspaper snippet from the assassination.
