SB5 - Research

This commission was given to me with only a week to design 4 outcomes that heavily linked to the design of mine shown above. This means that with the amount of time (less than a week) given and with the restricted process I won't be able to fully show any development journey.

The orange ‘Just Do It’ design that inspired the commission was designed after purchasing that specific pair of sneakers. The design is a simplistic line vector design, highlighting the detail of each part of the sneaker, showing the iconic swoosh logo and highlighting the features of the sneaker that make the release unique. The use of colour is kept as a simple block colour to direct more attention to the sneaker design.

Attending the design workshop and release for the Nike Sage Low’s was a great opportunity to get a hands on experience with understanding the sneaker release. ‘The Force is Female’ event was held by creatives Erin Corrian-Alexis and India Lawrence, talking to them about the reasoning behind their design work was important with informing initial concepts.

The final photos of the design that I customised myself,
I will use these as of the the poster designs.

The second and third sneakers chosen for the brief were the ‘Air Max 1 Low Utility’ release. The design of the sneakers offered very unique features that could be interesting to explore with when designing the posters.
