SB2 - Rationale





Design an EP front and back cover for Artist amahla for her album release on the 15th of February.

Research into the Artist and past EP work, to construct a strong understanding for the Artists vision for the brief; that incorporates collage design. The outcomes needs to be cohesive to amahla and visually narrate the meaning behind her music for her album, Consider This. Amahla’s music reaches out over a large age group (18+) target audience, specifically the Soul Music community so the design needs to target and relate well to both young and old - offering a nostalgic yet youthful tone.

To build up to the release of Amahla’s EP, create social media content that can be used to promote the lead up and the release of the EP.

The themes to explore in the EP design:
- Brexit
- Rise of Hate Crimes
- Me Too Movement
- Gentrification in London
- House Prices - how expensive living is
- Rise of Trump
- Black Lives Matter
- Jeremy Corbyn
- Migration Crisis



Backgrounds and Considerations:
- Target Audience is Open
- R&B Soul Music
- Music touches upon Political Issues, Gentrification, Black Lives Matter, Activism.

Mandatory Requirements
- Research into the Artist and past EP work shown
- Constructs a strong understanding for the Artists desires and vision for this Brief
- Look into Copyright of Secondary Imagery
- Incorporate Collage design into the cover with themes of the music in the Album
- Cohesive to Amahla’s work
- Cohesive style through Front and Back design.
