Jo Blaker's talk was really motivating and inspiring when it comes to sketch book work. Blaker's talk focussed on the thought process and impact sketchbooks have on a design process. She is a prime example of how the process of sketches can really impact and improve creative thinking when approaching projects. Blaker pushed the idea of creating sketches on the go encapsulation journeys and moments, and to remove oneself from pc's, as it doesn't help one to think creatively and, or help broaden ones development process like sketching.
Blaker's sketchbooks shared an insightful wide variety of approaches, from pencil sketches exploring shade and tone, to thin continuous line drawings expressing themes of shape and silhouettes. The range of styles and scale shown in Blaker's sketchwork really inspired me to just go for it, explore and sketch whatever comes to mind, as long as I were encapsulating my thoughts to what I see.
Overall, Blaker's talk really has inspired me to "attack" a sketchbook, to go out and note down all my ideas and things I get inspired by, Blaker's design and thought process will definitely be used in my following modules to come, and really help my development process and outlook of shape, colour and structure.
