D&AD’s
work looks at incorporating past successors styles of work into their social
media branding. The GIF’s created have a form of contextual referencing and
secrecy to their work, and adds a form of intrigue for the public. The dynamic
Gif’s are flawlessly designed and highlights the professionality of the event.
The colours used are bright and contrasting, and add a form of depth to the
gif. This approach to creating a gif of a high quality was suggested in the
group, as it would refine the branding, showcase the professionality of the
brand concept and can be used over multiple social media platforms.
Branding
work by RM-OK for an exhibition. Their use of repetitive shapes and type follow
a clean grid system producing deliverables that flow in consistency. The colour
choice was inspired from work shown in the exhibition, adding a contextual
reasoning behind the work; representing and showing a glimpse of the work
outside of the exhibition. The restricted use of colour creates an identifiable
brand style, this decision to create a colour palette was applied to initial
ideas for this brief.
Morag
Myerscough and Luke Morgan installed design for Pavilion Birmingham Library. –
completed by Dutch studio Mecanoo. Challenging people’s perspective of what
libraries have to offer. “We wanted to greet visitors with a smile and a
celebration of the work, it encourages conversation and fun”. Research into
their work helped identify that the branding still needs to be eye catching to
the public, and also celebrate the spaces in Leeds through design. Their
overall thought behind the design is what the branding for the exhibition
needs, something that ‘encourages conversation and fun”.
